Music Midtown Festival

This past weekend my boyfriend Sam and I attended the Music Midtown Festival in Atlanta, Georgia. We had the most AMAZING and memorable time while we were there! We may have sweated our a$$ off, got sunburnt, and had blistered feet but it was all worth it to get see such incredible artist.

Honest Review of Hello Fresh

Happy Tuesday my loves! Today I want to do a blog post that’s different from the usual and not fashion related. Something a lot of people don’t know about me is that I love to cook! It is a great stress reliever and it is also a fun cheap date night for me and Sam.

A Weekend At The Lake

Spending time with my family at our lake house is one my favorite weekend getaways. It’s always such a fun and relaxing time! Our time spent at the lake always consist of us cruising on the boat, paddle boarding, playing ladder ball, and A LOT of food and beer. I love being able to catch up and spend time with my family, and our lake house is about the only time we are all together. I especially cherished this past weekend since I will be moving away from my family in just two short weeks. It was the perfect way to spend one of my last weekends at home.

I love going on big vacations, but sometimes you just need a relaxing small getaway weekend of not having to worry about how you look and what to wear. I don’t know about y’all, but when I am at the lake my look/wardrobe consist of a swimsuit, no make up, and my hair on top of my head. That is part of the lakes biggest appeal.  As a blogger, always trying to look your best can get exhausting. I am not always dressed to the nines or look my best, and I believe that it is important for all of my readers to know and understand that.

Swimsuit: ASOS (top & bottom) // Cover up: Missguided (similar version)

Since the only clothes I really wear at the lake are swimsuits, I made sure to at least pack my cutest ones. I am in LOVE with this high waisted tropical print swimsuit. It is just such a fun print and style! The high wasted bottoms are huge plus because you can easily hide your food baby and beer gut (we have all been there ladies). I also love the high leg cut on the bottoms, it creates a very flattering look. This swimsuit is on sale currently, so I would rush over to ASOS to purchase it before it sells out!

Swimsuit: Zara (similar version) // Cover up: local retailer (similar versions here & here)

For day two at the lake, I opted for my more stylish than practical swimwear. This swimsuit is one of my favorites, and I found it hid in a corner under random clothes at Zara (a very lucky find). Even though I always end up with crazy weird tan lines from this swimsuit I still catch myself wearing it all of the time.  For my swimsuit cover up, it is actually just a cotton blouse from a local boutique called Lucca that I wear as a cover up. I bought it a couple of years ago so it is no longer available unfortunately, but I was able to find a few similar products to link for you above.

XOXO,

Summertime R&R: Rosé and Rooftops

We did it, we made it to Friday! I don’t know about you, but in the summer my favorite way to spend my nights and weekends are on a rooftop. Luckily, in Birmingham a brand new rooftop bar just opened up at the Elyton Hotel called Moon Shine. It has a view that is to die for, plus they have a $9 glass of rosé that is filled to the rim (so you know I’m in). The Elyton is a recently renovated hotel from 1909, and it is breathtakingly beautiful! The hotel has gargoyles around the roof and marble from floor to ceiling in the lobby. In addition to the rooftop bar, there is also a new restaurant downstairs called The Yard. Birmingham, Alabama may not be the biggest city in the country, but we still have some pretty great views, and this is the best place to be to see it.

The best way to beat the heat down south in the summer is to find somewhere with a good breeze. There is no better way to do that than with a rooftop and a glass of ice cold rosé. I have always been a lover of wine, but I have just recently discovered my love for rosé. So you already know I have been drinking it on repeat.

For clothes, the best way to stay cool is with anything low cut and backless (back-sweat is my own worst enemy). This denim dress is a summer favorite and I have been wearing it on repeat. Denim is usually a very hot material, but the low cut in the front in back help you stay cool on a hot summer day. Unfortunately, this dress has sold out but I have linked similar denim dresses below. This is a great dress to transition from day-to-night, making it perfect to wear to happy hour!
