It’s back ladies! I feel like velvet rotates in and out more than any other trend lately. I am normally not a huge fan of velvet, but how does one not love this top? This blouse just screams fall! It is gorgeous, plus it is my favorite color. I am always a sucker for mustard yellow. As if this blouse couldn’t get any better, it only cost $18!! This blouse and I were destined to be together.
Happy almost Friday ladies and gents!! There’s only one more day until the weekend, WE’VE GOT THIS!! In the mean time, I am sharing with y’all one of my favorite street styles. I don’t know if y’all have noticed, but I am slightly obsessed with ruffles. So this top is an absolute favorite of mine — obviously.
Happy Thursday and welcome to the final part of my fall trends series!
Plaid is back ladies and it’s stronger than ever with shoulder pads! Who ever thought that we would see the day when structured shoulders would make an appearance again? Even better, who claimed they would NEVER wear this trend — me! Here I am now, eating my words because I am rocking a plaid blazer with shoulder pads and I am loving it. This blazer created and edgy and chic look from just a plain tank top and jeans, which creates a great fall daytime look. It can be worn so many different ways, so this will obviously be a staple piece in my fall wardrobe. You can easily style it with a dress, a denim skirt, or trousers to create a great work look. The jeans that I am wearing are from H&M and they are my favorite classic pair of jeans. They are high waisted, with a zipper detail at the ankle, and they are very figure flattering.
This blazer is from the A New Day private label at Target that just recently came out. If you haven’t checked out this brand you should ASAP. They have great trendy pieces at a reasonable price. Target has really been stepping up their apparel department. First they had Who What Wear, which I am a huge fan of, now they have A New Day for women and Goodfellow & Co. for men. Target, just go ahead and take all of my money because this where I will be purchasing most of my fall wardrobe this year!
There are so many great upcoming new trends for fall 2017. I am counting down the days until we have cooler weather and I can start breaking these looks out. What upcoming trends will you be wearing the most this fall? For me, it will probably be this plaid blazer!
Red is THE color for fall 2017 and it’s already everywhere you look in stores whether it’s shoes, clothes, or accessories. Red is such a powerful color than demands attention — so you already know that I will be wearing this trend a lot this fall. This red leather skirt is from Forever 21, they are a great go to for your red pieces this fall. You can dress this skirt down with a graphic tee and V-neck or dress it up with a blouse like I did here. I am always a fan of versatile pieces — they are the best wardrobe investments. The blouse I am wearing is from H&M and has been one of my favorites lately. Polka dots are a very chic print that has been huge this summer and will carry into fall, so don’t go and throw out your polka dots quite yet.
Western inspired pieces are also a big trend that you will see this fall. I bought these ankle boots last year from Target for around $30 and sadly they aren’t available anymore. Although, I was able to find a pair that is completely identical from Free People (but sadly more expensive). They go with EVERYTHING though which makes them worth the splurge.
This outfit is great for touring an art gallery and getting drinks. If you’re in Birmingham you should check out Gallery 1930 in Mountain Brook (where these photos were taken). It is such a fun place to go with your girlfriends or on a date. There is a restaurant on site called Vino and the food is AMAZING! Before dinner though you should go to the Gallery Bar, grab a drink, and walk around to check out the amazing art work.
Welcome to part 2 of my fall trends series! This part is about waist belts and backpack purses (as you can clearly tell from the title). Waist belts are a trend that I kind of questioned and wondered if I could ever pull off. This was until I found this gem at H&M. It is the perfect subtle way to pull off the waist belt trend. It is much more my style than the larger waist belts or corsets. This blouse has a structured material which allows it to bustle up around the breast and shoulders giving it a dressier look.
This backpack purse has been a constant go to for me lately (as you have seen in 3 of my past posts). This style purse is everywhere for fall. It’s not very ideal to carry as an everyday purse, due to the difficulty of getting things out of it. Although, it is great for events where you don’t want to put up with carrying a purse all night
As a fashion blogger the biggest advice that I can give to all of my readers is that you should never wear a trend if it doesn’t fit your style. Always stay true to yourself! If you try to dress in a way that isn’t you, you won’t be comfortable in your own skin or feel beautiful. The whole goal when dressing yourself or being styled is to make yourself feel beautiful. The trick to having great style is the ability to take a trend and mold it into your personality. This top was my way of doing that!
